Who we are
ChantWise is a trading name of Krsna Labs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16674432), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
Email support@chantwise.com with any question about these terms, your plan or a payment.
What these terms cover
These terms cover everyone who uses ChantWise, the app at app.chantwise.com and this website, whether you chant for free or pay for a plan. The sections on plans and payments apply only to the paid plans: Group, Community, and Temple & organisations. The Event pass is coming soon, and these terms will cover it when it opens. Try and Your room are free and need no payment.
By using ChantWise you agree to these terms. When you buy a plan, you agree to them at checkout, and you get an email receipt for what you bought.
Acceptable use
Accounts are personal
Each ChantWise account is for one person only. You must not:
- share your sign-in details, sign-in links or codes with anyone else;
- let more than one person use the same account, or use an account that is not yours;
- sell, transfer or lend your account, or a group’s admin access, to anyone else.
You are responsible for what you do through your account, and for what you let anyone else do with it. If you think someone else has used it, tell us straight away at support@chantwise.com.
If other people help run your group, add them as people who can lead. Each of them uses their own account or the room’s leader PIN, never your account. Sharing a room link with the people you invite to chant is allowed. That is how ChantWise is meant to be used.
Plan limits
Each plan has limits, such as the number of people on phones, the number of rooms and the features included, as listed on chantwise.com. Free rooms are limited to 5 people. You must not get around these limits, for example by opening several accounts or free rooms to run one larger group, by sharing accounts, or by any technical means.
Prohibited use
You must not, and must not help or allow anyone else to:
- Copy or scrape. Copy, scrape, crawl, harvest or download any content from ChantWise or chantwise.com, including texts, translations, transliterations, meanings, commentary, audio and timings, by bots, scripts or any other automated means, or compile it into a copy, collection or database.
- Record to copy. Record or capture ChantWise’s content by any means, including screen recording or capturing network traffic, in order to copy, republish, distribute or sell it.
- Reverse engineer. Copy, modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the ChantWise app, website or code, or try to find its source code or how it is built, except to the extent the law expressly allows this.
- Build a rival product. Use ChantWise or any of its content to build, train or improve another product or service, including AI models.
- Get past access controls. Get around or interfere with sign-in, room PINs, plan limits or any other security or access control, or enter any room, group or account you have not been invited to.
- Disrupt the service. Overload, disrupt, damage or attack ChantWise, introduce malicious code, or test it for weaknesses without our written permission.
- Resell. Resell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit ChantWise or its content, or present it as your own.
- Break the law. Use ChantWise for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or to harass, abuse or threaten anyone.
You may film or record your own group chanting, for example a temple recording its own session, provided you are not doing so to copy ChantWise’s content.
What belongs to whom
The scriptures themselves are ancient and belong to everyone. The work we put into presenting them belongs to Krsna Labs Limited or to the people who licensed it to us. That includes our translations, transliterations, meanings, commentary, audio, timings, design, code and the ChantWise name. We give you a personal right to use ChantWise under these terms. It is not exclusive and you cannot transfer it.
What you add, such as a group name, room names or a donation QR, stays yours. You let us store and show it so we can run ChantWise for you.
If these terms are broken
We watch for misuse of ChantWise, including signs that an account is being shared or that limits are being got around.
If we reasonably believe that you, or anyone you let use your account or help run your group, has broken these terms, we may do any of the following:
- warn you;
- remove anything added in breach of these terms;
- limit, suspend or close the account, room or group concerned;
- end your paid plan;
- take legal action, and report unlawful activity to the authorities.
Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. We may act straight away where the breach is serious, deliberate or repeated, or where we need to protect other people, ChantWise or our content.
If we end a paid plan, we refund the unused part of the period. If we end it because you seriously or repeatedly broke these terms, we may first take off any reasonable costs the breach caused us.
What you pay for
You pay for a service: running chanting sessions for a group. A paid plan gives your group room for more people on phones, more rooms, more people who can lead and the TV screen, as listed on chantwise.com when you buy.
A payment to ChantWise is not a donation. It does not support a temple or a cause, and we do not issue tax receipts for it (including 80G receipts in India).
All texts in ChantWise are free on every plan, paid or not.
Who the customer is
The customer is the person or organisation who buys the plan at checkout. If you buy for a temple, a charity or another organisation, you confirm you are allowed to act for it, and the organisation is the customer.
The customer looks after billing: changing or cancelling the plan and updating the card. Paying for a plan does not give anyone access to another person’s personal practice (see “Your practice stays yours” below).
You are a consumer if you are an individual buying wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession. Paying for your own chanting group or satsang usually makes you a consumer. Consumer law then protects you whichever plan you choose.
Who sells to you
If you are in the UK, you buy from Krsna Labs Limited. Your card statement shows CHANTWISE.COM.
If you are outside the UK, you buy from Sold through Link, LLC, a
Stripe company, shown at checkout as “Sold through Onelink”. It is the seller of that purchase,
under its own terms, and we supply the ChantWise service to you under these terms. It sends your
receipts, your card statement shows LINK.COM* CHANTWISE, and it handles questions about the
payment and pays out refunds. We decide refund requests under these terms.
Prices and tax
Prices are shown on chantwise.com and at checkout, in pounds, euros, US dollars or Canadian dollars depending on where you are.
Prices in pounds and euros include VAT where it applies. Dollar prices are before sales tax, which is added at checkout where it applies.
Group and Community plans are billed monthly or yearly, as you choose. Temple & organisations plans are billed yearly.
Paying
Stripe takes card payments for us. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your name, your email, the plan you bought, and the dates you paid.
Renewal
Your plan renews at the end of each month or year until you cancel, and the card on file is charged then. Before each yearly renewal you get an email reminding you of the date and the price.
Changing your plan
An upgrade to a bigger plan starts straight away. We charge the difference for the rest of the current period at the time you change.
A switch from monthly to yearly billing also starts straight away. The unused part of your current month is taken off the yearly price, the rest is charged then, and your plan renews a year from that day.
A downgrade to a smaller plan, or a switch from yearly to monthly billing, starts at the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then you keep what you paid for.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the billing page, which you reach from your group’s page, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next payment. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and then the group becomes a free room for up to 5 people.
Refunds
You can cancel at any time (see Cancelling above). Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part of a period, except as set out below.
Yearly plans. If you ask within 14 days after your first payment, or after a yearly renewal, we refund the whole payment and end the plan.
Monthly plans. We do not refund a monthly renewal. Cancelling stops the next one. Within 14 days after your first payment you have the right to cancel, described below.
Your 14-day right to cancel. If you buy a plan as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days after the day you bought it, without giving a reason. Tell us by email, or use the form at the end of these terms if you like. For a yearly plan we refund the whole payment, as above. For a monthly plan, if you asked at checkout for your plan to start straight away, we refund the days you have not used. If you did not, we refund it all. Either way we refund within 14 days of you telling us.
If something goes wrong. If we charge you twice, make a mistake, or ChantWise does not work as described, we always put it right, and that includes a refund where that is the fair fix. If ChantWise is not provided with reasonable care and skill, you also have legal rights, which can include having it put right or getting some or all of your money back.
How to ask. Email support@chantwise.com. If you bought outside the UK, the seller is Sold through Link, LLC (Link, a Stripe company), and you can also ask Link.
Refunds go back to the card or account that paid. Your bank may take a few more days to show them.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries the card again for up to 28 days, and we email the owner. Your group keeps working for 30 days from the first failed payment, and we will not end a chant that is already running.
If it is still unpaid after 30 days, the group becomes a free room for up to 5 people and we stop trying to collect the missed payment. We keep the group’s rooms and links, and its paid features come back as soon as you start a plan again.
Price changes
If we change a price, we email you at least 30 days before the change. A new price applies from your next renewal, never in the middle of a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it starts.
Your practice stays yours
Each person’s own practice is private to them. It counts toward a group only when that person chooses. Hosts, people who can lead and whoever pays for a plan never see anyone’s personal history. A group sees totals, such as how many people chanted at a meeting, not a list of who did.
A group’s own donation QR
On plans that include it, a group can show its own donation QR. Only show a QR for a group you are allowed to collect money for. Money given through that QR goes straight to the group. ChantWise is not part of that payment, never holds the money, and does not issue receipts for it. Any question about a donation is between the giver and the group. We remove a QR if it is reported as not belonging to the group shown.
Keeping ChantWise running
We work to keep ChantWise running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will never stop or never have a fault. Sometimes we need to pause it briefly for maintenance. Phones, internet connections and venue Wi-Fi are outside our control.
Our responsibility to you
We provide ChantWise with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss nobody could have foreseen.
If you are a consumer, we are not responsible for business losses, such as lost income.
If the customer is a business or organisation, and not a consumer, our total responsibility to you in any year is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
Changes to the service
We may change ChantWise to improve it, fix problems, keep it secure, or follow the law. We will not remove something your plan includes during a period you have paid for. If we ever have to, we tell you, and you can cancel and get back the unused part of that period. This is on top of any other rights you have.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for the same reasons, or to cover something new. We email paying customers at least 30 days before a change that affects them. If a change is worse for you, you can cancel before it takes effect and get back the unused part of your period.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Your practice in the app. You can also email us from the address you sign in with, and we delete it within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
If your account owns a paid group, deleting it cancels the group’s plan at the end of the paid period. We keep payment records, such as amounts, dates and invoices, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Complaints
If something is not right, email support@chantwise.com. We will look into it and get back to you. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
Your rights and the law
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under consumer law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protections your local consumer law gives you. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
Cancellation form
You do not have to use this form. An email saying you want to cancel works just as well.
