Around the world, and in Tamil
The Lord of the seven hills belongs to the Tamil land as much as to any, for Tiruvengadam, the hill of Venkateswara, is sung by the Alvars as the northern gate of the Tamil Divya Desams. The Venkatesha Stotram praises him, drawn from the Brahmanda Purana, from the greatness of the Venkata mountain told by Brahma to Narada. Tamil devotees chant it on Saturdays, the Lord's day, and as a daily refuge, for protection, for relief from worry, and out of love. Venkateswara, known also as Balaji and Srinivasa, is adored at Tirumala and in Balaji temples the world over. Here the same verses are set in Tamil script, ready to read and chant in your own letters.
