Sri Krishna Ashtottara Shatanama Stotram in Sanskrit

श्री कृष्ण अष्टोत्तर शतनाम स्तोत्रम्

Narada Pancharatra, Jnanaamritasara, Uma-Maheshwara Samvada Deity: Krishna Metre: Anushtup 26 verses

In its original Sanskrit

This is the Krishna Ashtottara Shatanama in its original Sanskrit, the hundred and eight names of Krishna drawn from the Narada Pancharatra. The names gather the whole of Krishna's story into a single garland: the child of Gokula, the butter thief, the friend of the Pandavas, the teacher of the Gita. For generations they have been chanted on Krishna Janmashtami and as a daily devotion, at Udupi, Guruvayur and Dwarka, and by movements like ISKCON and the Chinmaya Mission around the world. The tradition holds that even a few of these names, said with love, draw the heart toward Krishna. Read here in Devanagari, the script carries the sounds as they have always been chanted.

About the Krishna Ashtottara Shatanama Stotram

108 names of Krishna, from the Narada Pancharatra. What makes this stotra special is how the names tell his whole story: the butter-stealing child in Vrindavan, the friend who drove Arjuna's chariot, the teacher who spoke the Gita when it mattered most. You can chant it with a 108-bead mala, one name per bead, and it becomes a kind of meditation without trying. Short enough to do daily, deep enough that you'll still be discovering layers in it years later.
